Further education given to employees by mean of qualified instruction in addition to the usual working days, especially when related to professional and political topics.

Every employee, male and female, is entitled to five days leave from work with uninterrupted remuneration. Lawful basis for it in Hessen is The Educational Leave Law (HBUG) of 16.10.1984, last amended version being that of 7.7.1998

Is given to all employees and trainees, male or female, only with political education, under the condition that working schedule consists of five days a week and employment or training status began at least 6 months prior ti application for educational leave.

For military and civil personnel, civil servants and judges there are special rules to be observed.

According to § 5 paragraph 8 HBUG, employees may postpone their educational leave entitlement to the successive year provided that:

• ........they are unable to take advantage of it during the current year for reasons to be explained to the employer until 31st December at the latest.
• ........in case the leave applied for has been rejected by the employer in the current year.

The “Sprachtreff Frankfurt” intensive course encompasses 6 tuition hours a day which are officially recognized as educational leave Hessen and Niedersachsen and Rheinland Pfalz .

Once proven that the foreign language course has been deemed necessary, exclusively for professional or corporate reasons, a statement from the employer may be shown, there are good chances of a tax deduction in accordance with the legal rules as emanating from the Federal Finance Authorities at that moment.
